Japanese researchers have developed a method of data encryption for smart home

Scientists from the Japanese Tohoku University have created a new method of encrypting information transmitted in smart home systems, and machine to machine. Now the possibility of such encryption is limited – as soon as the power supply unit is weakened, the processor ceases to encrypt data.


Japanese scientists have also proposed a new method in which the amount of energy used in the encryption is reduced by half. Thus, harnessing the AES algorithm, they managed to reduce the amount of required computation chains. As a result, the load on the processor weakened by 45%.

Scientists were able to realize such indicators in the reverse process – deciphering. The algorithm can be used with such data protected protocols as SSL and TLS. The next step will be the introduction of the created model in real systems and networks.
